About Me
My interest in healing, the consciousness
and esoteric sciences, the human condition and social conflict was kindled
by my childhood experiences.
I was born and raised in South Africa. My
parents were third generation Germans who farmed and had interests in
the coal mining industry.
My father was an outspoken spokesman in our
community and many regularly drew on his wisdom, compassion and negotiation
skills to resolve volatile situations.
As a strong-willed 17 year old I left South Africa
to complete my schooling in Germany.
My young intellect reveled in the
freedom of expression, culture and
history of my German heritage.
A short
student work placement with BMW fostered a love for the advertising industry
and I returned to South Africa to gain a tertiary qualification to fulfill
this goal.
On completion of my psychology and commerce degree, I was awarded a full
scholarship by the Association of Accredited Advertising agencies.
This
opened doors to both work and further formal training in market research,
media planning, business development and marketing. I established my career
as an independent Business Strategist and contractor working for some
of the country's leading agencies.
The highlight of my professional experience was being contracted in to
work as
Communications Strategist for the ANC in South Africa's first
election.
To be at
the forefront of such a transition was an exceptionally
moving and enriching experience.
Whilst outwardly engaged in my career I became ever more aware of the
subtle levels of the inner planes. It was in this way that I was guided
to work with a group of
mostly medical professionals who were interested
in evolutionary psychology,
integrative medicine, sacred texts and the
consciousness sciences, especially the work
of Dr JJ Hurtak. I remained
an integral part of this group till my early 30’s
when my husband
and I immigrated to New Zealand. A need for a safer environment
to raise
a family as well as a sense of adventure, motivated the move to this beautiful
country.
While at home with my young children I furthered my training by completing the Counselling Foundation year through the Institute of Psychosynthesis. I then transferred to the School of Natural Healing for a further 4 years of professional training. I am now registered as a Healing Science practitioner with the NHRI. Presently my time is divided between my private practice and my work as a domestic violence advocate and counsellor for the Ministry of Social Development. I have undergone further specialist training in crisis and conflict resolution, grief counselling, suicide intervention and process art.
Touched by the enormous emotional, financial and relationship costs that the adversarial attitude and process is exacting on families and individuals, I have worked alongside a lawyer for the last 5 years exploring new ways in which the legal, economic, psychological and healing industries might be integrated. We are dedicated to taking this work further. These specialist services are marketed separately under the company name iResolve.
Why I work as a healer
I never set out to become a healer. A healer is a consequence of what
I’ve become.
I set out on a journey of great longing.
I longed to feel the freedom of my own soul.
I longed to understand the transformational power within.
I longed to break free of the psychic labyrinth and the psychodrama of
my lower mind.
I was no longer satisfied with the dogma of traditional thinking.
I wanted to understand the true significance of
“as above, so below
- as within, so without.”
It’s not been an easy journey.
I’ve been through both technical
and spiritual training.
I’ve had to challenge the weak parts
of my personality and learn
to hold my creative focus and intent.
It is with joy and gratitude that I continue on the path of my own slow transformation
and the unfolding mystery of my own Being.
